This fan-made WWE promo for an AJ Styles-Shawn Michaels dream match is stunning

WWE World Champion AJ Styles casually mentioned last week in an interview that he would love to face WWE icon Shawn Michaels at the 2017 Royal Rumble in Michaels' home state, and WWE fans have been freaking out ever since. On a conference call to promote WWE SuperCard, Styles said a Michaels return was "all speculation," but he planted the seed all the same.

"I would love the opportunity to wrestle him. I’d love to learn from him, but who’s to say if that’s going to happen. Right now, it’s all speculation and rumors that I’m finding out like everyone else is, but man, what a match that would be."

Shortly afterward, Styles shared a photo made by a fan of a faceoff between himself and Michaels.

YouTuber GTS Edit Wrestling created this epic promo for a potential match, and you could easily mistake it for an official WWE video.

Would Michaels really come out of retirement to face Styles? The answer is probably no.

He lost a "streak vs. career" match at WrestleMania XXVI to The Undertaker, and though he's made intermittent appearances since (most recently at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas), Michaels doesn't really have anything to gain by returning to the ring at the age of 51. He's accomplished everything he can, and he had to phenomenal matches against The Undertaker at WrestleMania to end his career.

That being said, WWE is staging the 2017 Royal Rumble in the Alamodome in Michaels' hometown, and there are a lot of seats to fill. Putting HBK in the main-event would be a massive draw.
