The Miz, Tye Dillinger Tease Potential WWE Match

The Miz and Tye Dillinger had an interesting exchange that may or may not lead to something.

The Miz recently returned to his “never-ending” WWE Intercontinental Championship reign. After losing the belt to Dolph Ziggler at WWE No Mercy, the A-lister recovered it by winning a title match at the 900th episode of SmackDown in November.

Since then, Miz has defended the belt three times with the most recent defense coming on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown. He would beat Dean Ambrose after James Ellsworth interfered. Before that, Sami Zayn lost at Survivor Series and Ziggler came up unsuccessful at WWE TLC.

Based on a Twitter exchange between Miz and this NXT star, we may be seeing the latest challenger approach the Intercontinental Championship picture. In what started with a Twitter fan question, Tye Dillinger said, “Miz could use a slap in the mouth”. This led to the 36-year-old responding, and beginning this back and forth on social media.

Miz pulled the developmental card on Dillinger, which is downright savage.

Dillinger then explained how a champion with a set of something below the belt needs to send an invite. He said, he’ll be waiting for it.

Miz fired back by calling out Daniel Bryan for giving “undeserving talent shots”.

This little Twitter beef between these veteran wrestlers could be the start of something for a future episode of SmackDown. The former “Real World” star doesn’t have anyone set up to face him for the Intercontinental Title, especially with Ziggler having lost his rematch and Ambrose not staying in the picture after one night. The Blue Brand has somewhat of a lack of mid-card babyfaces, so maybe it will take the call-up of someone to challenge for the title.

On the other hand, this Twitter beef could be nothing and just a work to toy with fans. This has been done with WWE stars before and wouldn’t be surprising if it’s done again.

Thoughts on a potential Miz vs. Tye Dillinger match on SmackDown?
