Linda McMahon Reportedly Being Considered for Secretary of Commerce
No, this is not a shoot or a work. The Trump Team is apparently very interested in making Linda McMahon part of the future cabinet.
When America elected a former reality television star as it’s new leader, it seemed only fitting that someone from the sports entertainment world would soon follow. Enter Donald Trump’s friend and confidante, Linda McMahon, wife of WWE CEO Vincent K. McMahon. According to NBC Connecticut, Linda is being considered for Secretary of Commerce in Trump’s administration.
Lest you forget, Linda is no stranger to politics. She had two unsuccessful Senate runs in 2010 and 2012, attended the Republican National Convention back in July where she hobnobbed with Paul Ryan and Chris Christie, and is considered a GOP “mega donor” after she contributed $6 million to Trump’s presidential campaign. Linda and Vince are also long-time friends of the Donald who have contributed $5 million to the Donald J. Trump Foundation so the president-elect possibly appointing an old friend/supporter isn’t all that surprising.
For her part, McMahon has described Trump as an “incredibly loyal, loyal friend” even if she didn’t always agree with his rhetoric during the campaign. Back in March, Linda told Katie Couric that she was less than thrilled with Trump’s comments about women but that didn’t necessarily stop her from supporting his campaign.
At this point, having a former professional wrestling executive in the new Trump administration would be the least crazy thing that will most likely happen over the next four years. While Trump himself has yet to reach out to Linda personally, she has said that she would be honored to serve in his cabinet if asked. There is no word yet on whether or not she would be required to win by pinfall or submission.
