Speculation is growing that CM Punk could be poised to make a return to WWE.

Over the weekend, WWE Superstar John Cena posted a photo of CM Punk's Twitter avatar on his Instagram page with no caption. On Monday, wrestling fans began to notice that Punk's wrestler profile had been added back on the WWE website, on the WWE Alumni page, where he previously didn't have a presence.

The WWE superstar-turned UFC fighter recently underwent back surgery, and his Octagon training is currently on hold. Punk left WWE in January 2014 and later signed with UFC, although he has yet to participate in a fight.

As far as Cena goes, it's worth noting that he did a similar troll job last month, posting a photo of AJ Styles just before his WWE debut. But the timing is odd for the WWE to give CM Punk a spot on the website.

While WWE fans are giddy with excitement over the possibility of Punk's return, it could also be ruse to attract more fans to April's WrestleMania event.
