Tennessee point guard Ariel Massengale is expected to miss between two and three weeks with a dislocated finger.

The freshman from Bolingbrook, Ill., injured the middle finger on her left hand going after a loose ball at the end of Thursday's practice. Tennessee Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine Jenny Moshak says a dislocated finger typically takes between 14 and 21 days to heal.

On Monday, Massengale was named the Southeastern Conference's freshman of the week. She is averaging 7.2 points and 5.8 assists per game for the No. 7 Lady Vols (4-2).

Massengale has started every game this season, and her absence is especially untimely with Tennessee going on the road to play No. 20 DePaul, No. 11 Rutgers, UCLA and No. 4 Stanford over the next two weeks.
