Stewart lifts No. 1 UConn to 104-49 rout of Temple

STORRS, Conn. (AP) Breanna Stewart had 22 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks to lead No. 1 UConn to a 104-49 victory over Temple on Saturday.

Katie Lou Samuelson added career-highs of 21 points and six assists.

It was only the second home game of the season for the Huskies at their on-campus facility, their first since a 91-81 win over Notre Dame Dec. 5.

UConn (16-0, 6-0 AAC) has won 53 straight games, one behind Louisiana Tech (1980-82) for the third longest winning streak all-time.

Moriah Jefferson added 11 points for the Huskies, who used a 24-0 run in the first quarter to take command. Natalie Butler finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.

The UConn starters did not play in the fourth quarter.

Alliya Butts led Temple with 12 points, six assists and three steals. The Owls (11-6, 5-2) shot 29.4 percent from the field.
