No. 25 Houston 90, Tulane 84
Courtney Taylor had 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead No. 25 Houston to a 90-84 victory in overtime against Tulane in the teams' Conference USA regular-season finale Saturday.
It was a team-record 16th straight win for Houston (25-4, 16-0), which took a 73-71 lead on Brittney Scott's layup with 41 seconds remaining.
Tulane (20-9, 9-7) answered on Danielle Nunn's lay-in with 30 seconds left and had a chance to win it in regulation, but Scott missed a jumper and Nunn's half-court heave at the buzzer was off.
In overtime, Houston took the lead for good on Jasmine Johnson's free throw with 3:48 that made it 76-75. Scott drained a 3-pointer with 3:05 left to up the lead to four, and the Cougars connected on 9 of 12 free throws in the final three minutes.
Scott finished with 28 points, and Lesslee Mason added 12 points and eight rebounds.
Nunn scored 25 points and Roshaunda Barnes had 16 for the Green Wave.
