No. 24 Gonzaga women overpower Montana State 89-60

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) Shelby Cheslek matched her career-high with 16 points as No. 24 Gonzaga cruised past Montana State 89-60 Friday night.

The Bulldogs (3-0) led 51-18 at halftime, but Montana State (1-2) rallied with a 14-8 run to start the second half, eventually closing to 16 points, 63-47, midway through the period.

Lindsay Stockton - whose dad John Stockton starred at Gonzaga - scored six of her 10 points in the flurry.

Lindsay Sherbert added 15 points for Gonzaga, Keani Albanez 14 and Sunny Greinacher added 12 points with 11 rebounds. The Bulldogs shot 55 percent for the game (33-60), including 9 of 19 3-pointers.

The game was Gonzaga's first this season away from home. Montana State was playing its first nationally ranked team since 2011.

Jasmine Hommes had 11 points to lead the Bobcats, who shot just 39 percent (23 of 59).
