No. 22 George Washington women win Atlantic 10 title

WASHINGTON (AP) Hannah Schaible scored a career-high 18 points to help No. 22 George Washington women beat George Mason 80-45 on Sunday in the Revolutionary Rivalry to earn the Atlantic 10 regular season title.

It's George Washington's first outright A-10 regular season championship since 2008.

George Washington (26-3, 15-1) had already clinched the No. 1 seed in the conferment tournament after an overtime win against Richmond on Thursday.

Taylor Brown scored 15 points for George Mason (13-16, 5-11).

George Washington led throughout after racing to a 45-22 lead by halftime behind Caira Washington's 13 points and Schaible's 12. The Colonials shot 55.9 percent in the half and scored 16 points off of 13 forced turnovers.

The Colonials started the second half on a 14-2 spurt, with scoring from four different players, to take a 59-24 lead. George Mason was held to six points through the first 10 minutes of the second half and trailed 71-28.
