No. 22 Delaware 70, Wake Forest 57
Elena Delle Donne had 30 points and 13 rebounds, and No. 22 Delaware pulled away to beat Wake Forest 70-57 on Sunday.
Delle Donne, who leads the nation with a 29-point average, helped the Blue Hens (8-0) claim their first win over an Atlantic Coast Conference team and extend the best start in school history.
Delaware held Wake Forest without a field goal for 11 1/2 minutes during the decisive 19-3 run. Delle Donne's jumper with just over 11 minutes left made it 48-46 and put the Blue Hens ahead to stay. Jocelyn Bailey capped the burst with a free throw that put Delaware up 65-49 with 3:08 to play.
Chelsea Douglas scored 15 points for the Demon Deacons (7-2), and Secily Ray's layup with just under 14 minutes left tied it at 46. They didn't make another field goal until Douglas' 3-pointer with 2 1/2 minutes remaining.
