No. 18 Georgetown 69, Syracuse 42
Sugar Rodgers scored 23 points and No. 18 Georgetown never trailed as it rolled over Syracuse 69-42 on Sunday to snap a two-game home losing streak.
Tia Magee had 11 points and six steals and Rubylee Wright added a season-high 15 points for the Hoyas (14-4, 3-2 Big East), who rebounded from an 80-60 home loss to second-ranked Notre Dame Monday and beat Syracuse for the sixth straight time.
The Hoyas used stingy, aggressive defense to force Syracuse into 14 percent shooting and 19 turnovers in a first half that ended with Georgetown ahead 43-19. They also made eight 3-pointers during the first 20 minutes.
Iasia Hemingway scored 14 points for the Orange (12-7, 1-4), who started the game 0-for-12 from the field and didn't score a field goal until 12 minutes, 2 seconds remained in the first half when they were already behind 16-1.
Georgetown's lead didn't dip below 19 points in the second half.
