No. 13 UCLA women beat Washington 86-69 (Jan 26, 2018)
SEATTLE (AP) Jordin Canada had 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting on Friday night and the No. 13 UCLA women took control in the fourth quarter to beat Washington 86-69.
The Huskies scored the first point of the fourth quarter on Amber Melgoza's free throw that tied it at 62. The Bruins (16-4, 7-2 Pac-12) then scored the next 19 points, making six of their first nine from the field. Japreece Dean's 3-pointer with 4:43 left capped the 19-0 run at 81-62. The Huskies (7-13, 1-8) missed all 13 of their field-goal attempts in the period.
UCLA trailed 37-34 at halftime and outscored Washington 28-24 in the third quarter to lead 62-61 going into the fourth.
Dean was 5 of 9 from 3-point range with 17 points, Michaela Onyenwere added 12 points, Kennedy Burke and Monique Billings scored 10 each for the Bruins.
Melgoza had 20 points to lead the Huskies. Hannah Johnson scored 17 points and Jenna Moser added 16.
