No. 13 Oregon State beats cold-shooting UCLA 65-47

LOS ANGELES (AP) Jamie Weisner scored 17 points, Sydney Wiese added 16 and Gabriella Hanson 11 - each knocking down at least a trio of treys - as 13th-ranked Oregon State defeated UCLA 65-47 Saturday night.

Wiese drained 4 of 9 3-pointers.

Oregon State (11-1, 1-0 Pac-12) is off to its best start in school history. The Beavers are aiming for a rare sweep in L.A., taking on USC Monday (The last sweep came during the 2000-2001 season).

Oregon State scored six 3-pointers in its first seven shots, taking an early 20-10 lead on the Bruins (5-8, 1-1) at Pauley Pavilion. The Beavers lofted 28 3-pointers, making 12.

UCLA made only three 3-pointers, shot 25 percent on the game (15-60), and were outrebounded 51-31.

Still, the Bruins came as close as 37-29 when Nirra Fields, who led with 20, scored her 1,000th career point on a layup with 16:14 to play.
