Sugar Rodgers scored 13 points and matched her career high with six steals for No. 13 Georgetown in a 79-41 win Saturday over Augusta State in its season opener.
Adria Crawford and Alexa Roche each scored 11 and Rubylee Wright added 10 for the Hoyas, who forced 31 turnovers.
The Jaguars came within seven just over six minutes into the game when Blaire Egardo and Eryka Menzies hit back-to-back 3s.
But the Hoyas, ranked for the first time in The Associated Press preseason poll, had a 30-8 run in which nine players scored to the end the half. Their lead was never smaller than 24 after that.
