Doreena Campbell and Markel Walker scored 16 points apiece and No. 11 UCLA beat Arizona 74-70 on Thursday night to clinch the second seed for the Pac-10 tournament.

The Wildcats (16-10, 7-8) shot 53 percent from the field but lost their eighth consecutive game against the Bruins (23-3, 13-2). UCLA tied a school record with its 11th road victory of the season.

Darxia Morris hit a 3-pointer with 1:18 remaining to give the Bruins a 66-61 lead, then stole the ball to help seal the victory.

''This team, on the road, we've got to understand that we've got to bring our defensive intensity and we've got to keep people off the glass,'' UCLA coach Nikki Caldwell said. ''Doreen Campbell and Darxia made some big shots for us down the stretch. Every time, we've come out here to play, it's been a battle.''

Shanita Arnold hit two 3-pointers in the final 24 seconds to keep the Wildcats within striking distance, but UCLA made seven of its final eight free throws to wrap up the second seed and a double-bye for the conference tournament.

Arizona, which had won three straight, fell to 10-3 at home.

''I want to give credit to UCLA. They came out and made a few more plays than we made,'' Wildcats coach Niya Butts said. ''They made some big shots at the end of the ballgame.''

Reserve Rebekah Gardner added 14 points for UCLA, which shot 51.9 percent from the field and had five players score in double figures. The Bruins also outrebounded Arizona 29-25.

Davellyn Whyte made three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points for Arizona. Soana Lucet scored 13 points, and Ify Ibekwe had 12.

UCLA also beat Arizona 70-60 on Jan. 29 in Los Angeles.
