Miami 81, No. 11 Georgetown 72
Riquina Williams scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds to help Miami beat No. 11 Georgetown 81-72 in overtime Tuesday night.
Shenise Johnson added 17 points and six steals, and Stefanie Yderstrom had 14 points and four assists for the Hurricanes (8-1), who won their seventh straight.
Miami outscored Georgetown 13-4 and went 8-for-8 at the free throw line in overtime to snap the Hoyas' three-game win streak. Georgetown (7-2) hit only 2 of 9 from the floor in the extra period.
Sugar Rodgers, who hit a 3-pointer with 21 seconds left to send the game to overtime, had 22 points and eight rebounds, and Rubylee Wright added 13 points and seven assists for the Hoyas.
Georgetown outrebounded Miami 55-33, but the Hoyas committed 23 turnovers that led to 27 Miami points. Miami outscored Georgetown 26-22 in the paint.
Poor shooting also hurt Georgetown as the Hoyas shot 38.4 percent from the field.
The Hurricanes shot 40.3 percent from the field and they made 10 3-pointers. Miami hit eight of its shots beyond the arc in the second half.
Miami led by nine in the second half, before allowing the Hoyas to chip away and take a 63-62 lead.
