Kentucky junior guard Linnae Harper decides to transfer
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) Kentucky coach Matthew Mitchell says that junior guard Linnae Harper has decided to transfer, the second Wildcats player to leave the program in the past two weeks.
Harper averaged 11.4 points and a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game in 34 contests with 17 starts last season. The Chicago native played in 69 career games and was expected to be a key player for Mitchell, who said Monday in a release, ''We appreciate everything Linnae gave our program for two years here and we wish her nothing but the best on and off the court going forward.''
Harper's transfer follows the Oct. 15 dismissal of guard Chrishae Rowe, an Oregon transfer who would have been eligible to play for Kentucky after the fall semester, for failing to uphold program standards.
