Billings scores 20; No. 20 UCLA women beat Michigan 86-77

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) Monique Billings scored a career-high 20 points with 11 rebounds and No. 20 UCLA beat Michigan 86-77 on Sunday in a rematch from last season's WNIT semifinal.

Billings was 6 of 11 from the field and made 8 of 10 free throws. Nirra Fields scored 22 points on 10-of-21 shooting for UCLA (5-2). Jordin Canada had eight rebounds with seven assists and 12 points.

Hallie Thome scored 24 points and Katelynn Flaherty added 20 for Michigan (7-2), which has lost two straight and its first at home.

The Wolverines had a one-point lead early in the third quarter. Fields made three straight layups to end the third and UCLA led 64-55.

Michigan pulled to 69-65 with seven minutes left. Canada scored six points, Billings and Fields added four apiece to give the Bruins an 83-71 lead with 2:45 left.

UCLA beat the Wolverines 69-65 in last season's WNIT semifinals, and is 3-0 in the series.
