Allen, Mississippi State women beat San Jose State 88-51

HONOLULU (AP) Jacaira Allen scored 14 points, Breanna Richardson had 10 and No. 7 Mississippi State beat San Jose State 88-51 on Saturday in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown.
The Bulldogs (6-0) never trailed and led by as many as 39 points. Teaira McCowan, a 6-foot-7 sophomore center, added nine points and 16 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass.
Mississippi State outrebounded San Jose State 58-28 and dominated second-chance points (25-5) and points in the paint (50-18).
San Jose State had 24 turnovers, leading to 35 points for Mississippi State.

Jasmine Smith had nine points for the Spartans (2-4), who were held to 37 percent (20 of 54) shooting from the field.
Mississippi State led 38-22 at halftime.
