White: "Diaz doesn't want to fight"
UFC middleweight Michael Bisping loves the idea of facing perennial bad boy Nick Diaz at 185 pounds when he returns to action in 2014.
UFC president Dana White is also on board for making that fight happen.
The only problem is it appears Diaz wasn't kidding when he retired earlier this year after a loss to Georges St-Pierre in the main event of UFC 158.
"I love that fight, I like it," White said about a potential Bisping vs. Diaz showdown. "But everything I hear from Nick Diaz is he doesn't want to fight."
White has reached out to Diaz several times with different fight offers and ideas to return to the Octagon but despite his best efforts the former Strikeforce welterweight champion remains reticent to stay retired.
Diaz lost to St-Pierre following a year-long suspension after testing positive for marijuana in his 2012 fight against Carlos Condit at UFC 143. His retirement was met with some cynicism because Diaz has talked about walking away from the sport before, but each time found an enticing enough offer to be lured back into the cage.
Now seven months removed from his last fight in the UFC, Diaz is still steadfast in his retirement and there hasn't been a bout offered yet that has spurred him to return.
