Urijah Faber on Dominick Cruz: 'I wanna be the one to break the glass champ!'

UFC bantamweight contender Urijah Faber is tired of hearing two-time foe Dominick Cruz talk about him.

"The California Kid" sent a scathing message via Instagram on Thursday, after Cruz told the media that he was willing to "gift" Faber another title shot.

"I think this is just another gift for Faber. He's been gifted his whole career with title shots, but oh well. Screw it. I'm all he's got left, so I might as well give him one more." Cruz told MMAJunkie.

Faber took exception to the barb, pointing out that he's accomplished just as much, if not more, than Cruz, and that he doesn't "back out" when his "body isn't feeling perfect," an obvious shot at Cruz's history with injuries.

Faber beat Cruz for the WEC featherweight title in March of 2007 by first-round submission but lost a decision when the two met at UFC 132 in 2011 for the UFC bantamweight strap. They were scheduled to meet for a third time at UFC 148 in 2012, but Cruz was forced to pull out of the bout after suffering an ACL injury while filming "The Ultimate Fighter Live."

Cruz returned in 2014 to score a win over Takeya Mizugaki before beating TJ Dillashaw for the bantamweight belt in 2016. During that span, however, Faber wrapped up three wins, with his only loss coming against featherweight contender Frankie Edgar.

These two obviously have a score to settle and we hope the UFC gets them in the Octagon as soon as possible.
