UFC World argues controversial UFC 169 Herb Dean intervention

Published Feb. 3, 2014 6:27 p.m. ET

UFC World Podcast host Gareth A Davies is joined by Jon Anik and Ross Pearson on this week's episode. Gareth and Jon look back over UFC 169, discussing all the issues in the aftermath of the event. Did Herb Dean save Urijah Faber from a brutal Renan Barao stoppage? Should Jose Aldo face Anthony Pettis next, or clean put the entire 145lbs division first? They are never likely to face each other as Nova Uniao gym-mates, but who would win if Aldo and Barao were to fight?

Was Dana White's criticism of Alistair Overeem deserved? Were the judging decisions skewed on the night, and Gareth and Jon argue out over the John Makdessi-Alan Patrick decision, both convinced that they had scored it correctly?

British lightweight Ross Pearson also joins Gareth to explain how he sustained the knee injury which has kept him out of UFC Fight Night London on March 8, and the mental anguish he feels at not being able to rematch Melvin Guillard in front of his home fans. Pearson reveals he has learnt from what he calls 'a mistake' by training on in Australia, after feeling his knee hyper-extend.
