UFC: Michael Bisping Confirms Future Fight with Yoel Romero

Michael Bisping confirmed Thursday evening that he and UFC president Dana White have discussed the next middleweight title fight. Bisping will fight Yoel Romero in the spring.
UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping announced on his radio show, The Countdown on Sirius XM Rush, that he and President Dana White have had conversations about an upcoming title fight against Yoel Romero, who was victorious this past weekend against Chris Weidman.
Fireworks began immediately after Romero’s win during his Octagon interview with Joe Rogan. Bisping was shown on TV and on the big screen at Madison Square Garden. Bisping gave Romero a thumbs down, and followed up by flipping him off excessively.
According to Bisping, White originally wanted the bout to happen in mid-January, but Bisping declined, as he still wants to recover and not have training interfere with the holidays. He suggested a fight in the spring against Romero, the date of which will be announced later.
So @YoelRomeroMMA can't speak English until I give him shit. All of a sudden he speaks better English than me! ????????#cheatanywayyoucan

Bisping has said on multiple occasions on his show that he is not interested in fighting Romero because he was on steroids and that it can take a while for it to wear off on one’s body. However, Bisping said he has never ducked a fight and is willing to take on Romero.
There was an unofficial four-man set up tournament in the middleweight division to help determine the next number-one contender. However, Luke Rockhold’s fight against Jacare Souza was cancelled due to an injury Rockhold sustained, making Romero the clear-cut top contender to fight Bisping for the title.
Despite not wanting to fight in December or January, Bisping made headlines when he was open to the possibility of fighting Georges St-Pierre or Nick Diaz at UFC 206. Bisping said that would be the only reason he would fight, due to the massive payout he would receive.
Bisping is currently on a five-fight win streak, recently defeating Dan Henderson in his first successful title defense. His win over Henderson propelled him to most wins in UFC history with 20. He has an MMA record of 30-7.
Romero is 13-1 in his MMA career, holding an impressive, undefeated record in his eight Octagon. Prior to knocking out Weidman, Romero earned a split decision win against Jacare Souza last December.
