UFC Houston Results: [VIDEO] Rountree Jr. Destroys Daniel Jolly With Huge Knee

The UFC is back in Houston and the first fight of the night was anything but a disappointment.
UFC Houston may be all about the return of ‘The Korean Zombie’, but hours before he is set to step foot inside the octagon all eyes were on the undercard and the future of the promotion and the sport.
The first fight was broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass and it featured two light heavyweight fighters as the highly touted Khalil Rountree Jr. met Daniel Jolly. Both men were in desperate need of a win coming into the fight and with that in the back of their respective minds, it made for an exciting affair.
We may just see the loser being released from the promotion. Rountree has lost two straight after his successful UFC debut against Josh Stansbury whereas Jolly lost his first fight as a pro last August and would love a big win in his home state of Texas.

A very focused and very dangerous looking Khalil Rountree Jr. made his way out to the octagon and took care of business in front of Jolly’s home crowd. It took only 58-seconds in the first round for Rountree to handle that business.
Jolly attempted to do what Khalil’s previous opponents did and take him down to the mat, but thanks to what one can only imagine was a long 12-weeks at American Top Team working on his ground game Rountree stuffed that takedown attempt and ended the contest with one very well placed knee to Jolly’s face.
The new look Rountree Jr. is one that could well make a very interesting run toward the UFC gold in 2017. At only 27-years old, Khalil has a very bright future ahead of him.
