UFC Fight Night: Brown vs. Silva in Cincinnati Finalized with 13 Bouts
The UFC will return to Cincinnati for the first time in nearly seven years when UFC Fight Night lands in the Queen City with a stacked 13-bout fight card headlined by Ohio's own Matt Brown against Brazilian knockout artist Erick Silva in the five round main event.
Brown is coming back from a back injury that sidelined him from taking his last fight in December, but with a new welterweight champion crowned at UFC 171, 'The Immortal' is looking to cement his name atop the contender's race with his fight on May 10.
Hoping to stop Brown's current six-fight win streak will be Brazilian prospect Erick Silva, fresh off a first round drubbing of Takenori Sato at the UFC Fight Night event from Brazil in February. Silva has bounced back and forth between wins and losses ever since coming to the UFC so this will be a big step up in competition when he faces Brown in Cincinnati.
Middleweights Costa Philippou and Lorenz Larkin will also face off in Ohio with the two contenders both looking to rebound from recent setbacks in the 185-pound division.
In addition to those fights, the lightweight division will see two of its best strikers showcased when Erik Koch returns to action to take on 'The Detroit Superstar' Daron Cruickshank. Both fighters are known high impact knockouts and flashy moves inside the Octagon so this could be a non-stop, action packed featured bout for the evening.
The main card airing live on FOX Sports 1 includes TUF Brazil fighter William "Patolino" Macario taking on Neil Magny, Australian heavy hitter Soa Palelei facing newcomer Ruan Potts, and Chris Cariaso vs. Louis Smolka in a flyweight showdown.
