UFC President Dana White has said that his relationship with Georges St-Pierre is far from being on rocky ground.

There has been some recent speculation that the relationship between UFC President Dana White and the former long-time welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has broken down and the two men no longer see eye-to-eye.

Well the boss himself cleared up those rumours in a recent text message to Post media news.

“My relationship has never been better with GSP. I’m glad we got together,” White wrote.

The two powerhouses of the MMA world got together recently to discuss St-Pierre’s contractual issues, the speculation surrounding their relationship and whether or not GSP would be added to UFC 206.

While rumours of a potential rift between St-Pierre and White have been circulating since the former champion retired, he took to his twitter account this week to respond to Michael Bisping’s challenge and addressed the situation between himself and White… Well Kind of…

Nothing would make me happier in the world than to fight you in Toronto, Michael. Last week I met with [new owner Ari Emanuel] and I made peace with [UFC President Dana White]. I tried to resolve things, but unfortunately right now it’s not happening. Hopefully things will change soon.

During his brief chat with Post media White made it clear that his relationship with the man they call “Rush” is flourishing but stood firm about GSP not being added to UFC 206 which takes place in Toronto, Canada.

Hopefully this a step in the right direction in terms of the return of St-Pierre. If the relationship has indeed been mended lets hope that 2017 is the year that we see the return of the greatest welterweight champion in promotional history.
