UFC champion Tyron Woodley enters his third straight title fight as an underdog

For the third straight time, odds are against Tyron Woodley getting his hand raised in the Octagon.
The UFC welterweight champion enters his second title defense against Stephen Thompson as an underdog according to multiple sportsbooks.
At 5Dimes.eu and BetNow.eu, Woodley currently sits at +130 versus Thompson at -150. Bovada.lv has Woodley at +110 while Thompson can be had at -140.
This isn’t uncharted territory for Woodley as he also entered his UFC 205 bout against Thompson as a +155 underdog. That fight ended in a majority draw, which is likely why the lines are a bit closer this time around.
Last July, when he challenged then-dominant welterweight Robbie Lawler for the title, he stepped into the Octagon as a plus +130 dog.
Woodley has beaten the odds on back-to-back occasions. If he does it again tonight at UFC 209, it’ll be hard to explain how he isn’t the favorite going forward.
