UFC champ Jon Jones gets 'Jeopardy' gameshow mention

It's always fun to see when MMA fighters get any small recognition in the mainstream. Ronda Rousey in movies like Entourage, for example, make us smile because we see how far the sport has come since it's banned from cable and most states days.
So, it was pretty cool to see UFC champ Jon Jones' name get used in a question on the gameshow, Jeopardy, recently (video above). What wasn't so cool was the fact that none of the factoid geniuses who may know the minutiae of table place-settings for a near-forgotten Eastern European monarch, had any clue who in tarnation Jones was.
The Jeopardy question with Jones' name in it was as follows -
Jon "Bones" Jones after a win in this sport: "I saw that my toe was upside down. Maybe it's not that serious of an injury.
The first contestant guessed "hockey." The second guessed, "soccer." The third contestant didn't even give it a try.
Of course, the answer was "what is, MMA, or mixed martial arts," or, "the world's fastest-growing sport, mixed martial arts," or, "Where CM Punk fights."
Bonus points for you, dear reader, if you know the fight Jones said that after. Take a second...
Yup, that's right, Jones said that after beating up Chael Sonnen. In the process of stopping Sonnen via ground strikes in the first round of their UFC 159 main event in 2013, Jones also completely wrecked one of his toes.
So, today's good news is that MMA, the UFC and Jon Jones made it to Jeopardy. The bad news is that no one on Jeopardy, save for the intern who likely wrote that question new what any of that stuff was.
Progress is slow, folks. But, we'll take it.
