UFC books debut date in South Korea in November

Published May. 16, 2015 2:50 p.m. ET

Following a successful debut in the Philippines on Saturday, the UFC announced another trip to Asia later this year with the first card headed to Seoul, South Korea, on Nov. 28.

The UFC has flirted with the idea of doing a show in South Korea for several years, especially considering the pipeline of talented fighters coming from the country recently.

With expansion ongoing in Asia, the UFC announced last year that it intended on going to South Korea and now with the date set the promotion will finally land there in 2015.

The UFC features several fighters from South Korea on the roster, including Dong Hyun Kim, Hyun Gyu Lim, Kyung Ho Kang, Yui Chul Nam and, of course, "The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung.

Lim and Nam actually fought on the UFC Fight Night card in the Philippines on Saturday, although both lost.

Chances are almost all of the fighters from that pool will want to fight in their home country come November, so keep an eye out on those possible matchups to be made once matchmakers Joe Silva and Sean Shelby start to put together the card.

It's likely as of now that the UFC Fight Night card from South Korea will air on the UFC's digital streaming service, Fight Pass.
