The new UFC lightweight champion celebrated his historic win in style and even had an old friend make an appearance at the party.

Conor McGregor headlined the UFC’s first visit to New York opposite Eddie Alvarez, who he beat to become the promotions first dual division champion. The card was a huge success for both McGregor and promotion and with that being said the Irish mega-star wanted to celebrate.

The Marquee in New York City was the venue of choice for team McGregor after Saturday nights huge win. I’m sure there was a who’s who in attendance for the party but one face that was seen at the venue may not have necessarily been invited.

In a video captured by TMZ (watch below), Nate Diaz was outside the venue being swarmed by fans. Diaz made no comments or answered any of the questions being thrown in his direction by the swarm of fans around him but it does make you wonder what he was doing at the McGregor after party spot.

While it is not made clear if Diaz actually did crash the party or if he was actually invited, his presence alone is enough to make people start talking about the third and final fight between the two.

As we all know by now these two fiery competitors have history. At UFC 196 it Diaz beat McGregor on just 11-days notice after his original opponent Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of their fight due to injury.

At UFC 202 they went five magnificent rounds in their rematch, a fight that McGregor won via majority decision. The reasoning behind Diaz’s visit to the after party could well be his way of making it known that he is ready for that trilogy bout.

A fight that would be even bigger now that McGregor is the 155-pound champion, a division that Diaz has been very successful in for over decade. The third and final installment of the McGregor/Diaz saga for the lightweight strap could well blow away the records set by their second meeting.

With the score between these two fighters currently at one a piece the sooner the third fight is announced the better it is for all involved. Unfortunately it may only be late next year after Mcgregor announced he is to become a farther next year but luckily it will be well worth the wait.
