Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson picked apart former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks over 1:27 to earn a first-round knockout and a potential shot at current titleholder Robbie Lawler.

Thompson landed 23 significant strikes before dropping Hendricks against the fence and going in for the finish. Hendricks never seemed to find his range, thanks in large part to “Wonderboy” exceptional athleticism, and suffered his first KO loss inside the Octagon.

In the co-main event, Roy Nelson stalked his way to win over Jared Rosholt, while Ovince Saint Preux and Joseph Benavidez scored important decision victories on the main card. Justin Scoggins and Derrick Lewis highlighted the prelims, and Mickey Gall locked up his place opposite CM Punk on an upcoming fight card.
