Silva submits Brenneman

Erick Silva is one of the most exciting fighters to watch in the UFC, plain and simple.
If you're yet to witness the cerebral, calculated beatdowns he unleashes upon his opponents, look no further than his fight with aggressive grappler Charlie Brenneman to get an idea of why he's such a highly regarded martial artist.
Fresh off a highly controversial DQ loss (punches to the back of the head) to Carlo Prater, Erick Silva was intent on making a big statement in his next fight. Enter Charlie Brenneman, an aggressive grappler that had made his name in the UFC by taking on all-comers and always pushing the pace.
Silva and Brenneman were expected to deliver an action-packed fight and they delivered in spades. From the moment the bell rang, Silva and Brenneman went after each other with everything they had.
Unfortunately for Brenneman, Erick Silva was simply too good, as the Brazilian knocked him around the Octagon before submitting him late in the first round.
Silva now looks to further cement his status as a true contender in the welterweight division as he takes on Dong Hyun Kim at UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. Shields on Wednesday, October 9th.
