Ronda Rousey vows to return to WWE in future

Ronda Rousey has been everywhere this week, landing on the cover of Sports Illustrated while being dubbed “Unbreakable” and heralded as the “World’s Most Dominant Athlete.”
The argument that the 28-year-old UFC women’s bantamweight champ is the most dominant athlete is perhaps worthy of debate — although it’s a sound one. Few could take issue with the observation that Rousey by and large is one of the biggest superstars in sport, male or female.
Not only that, but Rousey also has been a veritable quote machine of late — although that’s not a recent development in the least — such as her explanation for deciding to pose nude in ESPN The Magazine‘s “Body Issue” after learning an ex-boyfriend had nude photos of her.
Her most recent comments sure to get the jaws flapping in some (squared) circles are about her strong desire to one day return to the WWE in some capacity.
“I’m going to find a way,” Rousey said on Monday’s edition of “The MMA Hour,” via MMA Fighting. “Somehow, some way, some day. I just have no clue when.”
Rousey made a much-celebrated appearance at “Wrestlemania 31″ in March, appearing alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and delivering a beatdown to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
The UFC star clearly was bitten by the “sports entertainment” bug, saying afterward: “… There’s no way I can’t not go back in there again. There’s no way. After experiencing that, there’s nothing like it … The second I left I was already thinking, ‘How can I possibly go back?'”
However, Rousey’s comments were met with some resistance by Dana White. The UFC boss, referring to Rousey’s star turn as “awesome,” nevertheless characterized his star attraction’s appearance as “a one and done.”
While it may have to wait until her UFC career is over, Rousey clearly is holding out hope to enjoy one more go-round in pro wrestling.
“I’m willing to find a way to get back in there,” she said. “I don’t know how it would be possible in the foreseeable future. It’s definitely not possible for a very, very long time, I have an extremely full schedule.”
