In front of his hometown crowd, Neil Magny extended his division best six-fight winning streak with a shutout performance over Kiichi Kunimoto, earning a third-round finish by rear naked choke.

Magny has stated several times after losing back-to-back fights and believing that he was fighting for his job at the start of 2014 that confidence has been the biggest factor in his recent string of victories.

Magny showed off a wide array of moves against Kunimoto on Saturday night at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, winning the striking exchanges as well as the ground battle against the experienced submission specialist from Japan.

Toward the end of the second round, Magny took over with a barrage of strikes that hurt Kunimoto before trapping him on the mat and looking for the finish by strikes. Kunimoto survived to the bell, but not much longer in the final round.

Magny came out with a flurry early, stunning Kunimoto with punches before putting him on the mat. Magny quickly transitioned to take Kunimoto's back, where he locked on a rear naked choke to get the finish.

The crowd in Colorado was certainly behind Magny as he made the home state proud with another dominant performance.

With the win, Magny has likely earned a fight against a welterweight in the top 15, which will truly put his streak to the test.
