Miller returns to face Camoes

Published Oct. 2, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

A battle of lightweights both looking to rebound from recent losses has been added to UFC 168 when Jim Miller meets Fabricio Camoes on Dec. 28 in Las Vegas.

UFC officials confirmed the fight to FOX Sports on Wednesday.

Miller will look to return to the winning path after bouncing back and forth between wins and losses over his last six fights in the Octagon. Always battling for a top spot in the division, Miller has struggled to find consistency lately with losses to Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz, while also falling to submission in a fight against Pat Healy that was eventually overturned after his opponent tested positive for marijuana.

Miller is known as one of the toughest matchups in the entire division, and he will undoubtedly look to vent his recent frustrations against his next opponent come December.

Brazilian Fabricio Camoes will try to curb Miller's enthusiasm for victory when he tries to erase the memory of a tough loss in his last fight as well.

Camoes dropped a decision to Melvin Guillard at UFC 148 in July 2012, and hasn't fought against since that time. With nearly a year and a half off from action, Camoes won't find his next bout any easier when he faces a very stiff test in Miller.

With a packed lineup already headed to UFC 168 in Las Vegas including two title fights, it's likely that Miller vs. Camoes will end up as a featured preliminary fight on the card.

The show is headlined by the rematch between middleweight champion Chris Weidman as he faces Anderson Silva, while women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey takes on fellow Ultimate Fighter 18 coach Miesha Tate.
