Miesha Tate not ready to commit to Ronda Rousey rematch just yet

The moment Miesha Tate had the women's bantamweight title wrapped around her waist at UFC 196, she knew it wouldn't be long before questions about Ronda Rousey started again.
Tate has fallen to Rousey on two previous occasions and if not for Holly Holm knocking Rousey out last November, there wasn't much of a chance that the former Strikeforce champion was going to get another crack at UFC gold.
Once Tate choked Holm unconscious, she finally reached the top of the mountain to become UFC champion. But that also meant a likely showdown with Rousey when she returns to action later this year.
Or does it?
Tate is just five days removed from her title fight win and while UFC president Dana White has said Rousey is next, the new champion is still not ready to commit to anything in regard to her next fight.
"I haven't decided yet, honestly," Tate answered when asked if she's willing to wait until October or November to fight again while waiting for Rousey. "I'm still letting it all soak in and I'm trying to enjoy this moment, but eventually, probably after this week I'm going to sit down and talk to my management and see what exactly is next for me and what's best."
As the champion, Tate obviously will likely face whomever the UFC puts in front of her, but she's not making any decisions right now.
She's mostly just trying to enjoy the moment, although questions about Rousey seem to pop up around every corner.
Tate knows eventually she'll cross paths with Rousey again but whether that's her first title defense or not is still a mystery.
"I am the champion, I definitely want to stay active, I want to defend my belt, I want to continue to prove myself so whatever we all sit down and deem as the best route to do that then I'm ready," Tate said.
"I'm ready to take on all comers so I think that's the champion's job. I'll stay ready so I don't have to get ready."
Next up for Tate will be a trip to Australia next week to watch the UFC Fight Night card in Brisbane as her victory tour continues.
Once she actually has a chance to meet with her management team along with the UFC, Tate will hash out who her next opponent will be and when she can expect to get back in action.
