Manager: Paige VanZant taking it 'slow and steady', targeting fall return

Paige VanZant moved her UFC record to 2-0 with a win over the weekend in a dominant performance over "Ultimate Fighter" veteran Felice Herrig before making a jump up the official rankings this week where she moved to No. 7 in the women's strawweight division.

Despite a huge spotlight on her following the biggest win of her young career, VanZant isn't going to rush forward without taking some time to develop first.

VanZant's manager Mike Roberts tells UFC Tonight's Ariel Helwani that the plan for the 21-year old fighter is simple -- 'slow and steady wins the race'.

Roberts says that there are no plans to rush her into any fights right away and VanZant wants the chance to grow and evolve as a fighter before taking a stab at the top five in the division.

It might be tough to slow things down for VanZant after such a high profile win in her latest fight, but Roberts knows she wants to continue learning through her training at Team Alpha Male before accepting her next fight.

As of now the plan for VanZant is to return in the fall although the UFC hasn't decided anything as of yet about what comes next for the upstart contender from Nevada.
