Kelvin Gastelum wants Rick Story at UFC 171 after returning from injury

A knee injury forced Ultimate Fighter 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum from performing at last weekend's FOX UFC card from Sacramento, but now he's been cleared, he's healthy and he has a matchup in mind for his return.

According to report via UFC Tonight on Wednesday, Gastelum has been given the green light to get back into training and book a fight and he's looking at veteran competitor Rick Story for an opponent.

Gastelum would like to get the fight with Story at UFC 171 in Dallas, Texas as part of an already star-studded welterweight card headlined by the title fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler as well as Carlos Condit taking on Tyron Woodley.

With a perfect 7-0 record thus far in his career, Gastelum doesn't appear to want to waste any time jumping right into the deep end of the division and Story would be a very stiff test for the former Ultimate Fighter winner.

Story has alternated between wins and losses over his last four fights, but is recognized as one of the toughest matchups in the division. He holds one of the only two wins in the UFC over top rated contender Johny Hendricks after defeating him at The Ultimate Fighter 12 finale in 2010.

With UFC 171 rapidly filling up a bout between Gastelum and Story could add even more welterweight dynamite to an already stacked card.
