Josh Thomson injured and out of co-main event for UFC Fight Night in Brazil

The list of injuries in the UFC in 2015 continues to grow as lightweight fighter Josh Thomson has been forced to pull out of his fight against Gilbert Burns at the upcoming UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. LaFlare card on March 21 in Brazil.
Sources close to the fight confirmed the injury news to FOX Sports on Thursday after an initial report from Lancenet.com in Brazil.
Thomson was returning to action after back-to-back losses to Benson Henderson and Bobby Green, marking the first time in his career where he's dropped two consecutive fights.
Both fights were razor close and ended in split decisions, so Thomson was surely eager to get back in top form with a dominant win.
Unfortunately, Thomson suffered an undisclosed injury in training.
As of now, UFC officials have not confirmed Thomson's exit from the card and whether Burns will remain on the show with a different opponent.
The UFC Fight Night card on March 21 has already undergone several major changes including the main event, which was originally supposed to see Urijah Faber face Raphael Assuncao until another injury forced officials to change the headliner to the welterweight bout between Demian Maia and undefeated prospect Ryan LaFlare.
