Joseph Duffy submits Ivan Jorge inside one at UFC Fight Night

World be warned -- there's another Irish MMA fighter who is proving the hype is warranted. Joseph "Irish" Duffy was the last man to beat Conor McGregor -- back in 2010, and in just 38 seconds via submission -- but on Saturday in Glasgow he once more showed that his future may be even brighter than his past.

It took Duffy just three minutes and five seconds to score an submission win off his back against the very tough Ivan Jorge. The finish is Duffy's second in as many UFC bouts.

The lightweights exchanged strikes on the feet early on, with Jorge getting the edge. The Brazilian pressed Duffy against the cage, looking for a takedown but the Irishman defended well and got free.

Out in the center of the cage, the former professional boxer turned a switch left body kick into a knee to the head of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Jorge once again pressed the striker against the cage and tried for a takedown but Duffy once more got free.

Duffy landed another knee to the head before getting taken down. However, Duffy immediately transitioned to a triangle choke off of his back.

From there, he targeted Jorge's left arm and cranked it to force the tap out submission. As with Joanne Calderwood before him, Duffy brushed off the idea that he should be anything but calm, comfortable and confident in the cage.

"This is my life. This is what I love doing," he said.

"I feel no reason to be nervous. This is the place I want to be, every day."

As for submitting an accomplished submission fighter with a good pedigree like Jorge, Duffy also expressed no surprise that he was able to do what he did. "I'm confident in my game," he concluded, before adding that he's interested in fighting on the upcoming Dublin, Ireland card.

"I'm training with some of the best guys in the world week in and week out."
