Jon "Bones" Jones will wait until March to appear in court for traffic citations he received at the end of January for driving without a license, proof of insurance or registration.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion was originally due in court on Wednesday, but the proceedings have been pushed back until March 23 instead.

The case is listed as a “traffic misdemeanor trial” according to online documents obtained by FOX Sports on Wednesday.

The citations Jones received were somewhat concerning when first reported considering he's currently serving 18 months of probation following a hit-and-run accident last April.

Considerations for probation come with stipulations that a person cannot commit any crimes, but Jones was only stopped for a routine traffic violation.

While the courts could have sought a probation violation for the incident, the District Attorney's office informed FOX Sports almost immediately that they would not be seeking any additional charges against Jones for the infraction.

Instead, Jones will only face the typical penalties for a traffic ticket, as well as additional community service being added after not reporting the incident as part of his probation.

Jones is currently preparing for his upcoming main event fight against Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 and didn't see why his traffic stop was getting any attention after reports first surfaced earlier this week.

"Guys, I've gotten my sobriety back, almost five months sober now," Jones said. "Living happier and healthier. Got rid of a lot of people who didn't need to be in my life. Completed 65 appearances, talking to the youth in the community, about to win a world title in a few weeks and they're talking about tickets?"

Jones' fight with Cormier is scheduled for April 23 in Las Vegas, which will be his first bout back after his suspension from the UFC following the hit-and-run altercation was lifted.
