'Jason' outburst requires 35 stitches

GOIANIA, BRAZIL
Rony Jason's evening went from bad to worse after Saturday's UFC Fight Night event, culminating in an emergency trip to the hospital. After suffering his first UFC loss via head kick to Jeremy Stephens, a frustrated Jason put his left elbow through a plexiglass wall backstage, slicing open his arm in the process.
According to Jason's team, the fighter needed 35 stitches to close several wounds he suffered in the incident. It could have been even worse, as it was originally feared that he had broken a bone.
Jason hadn't lost in nearly four years, since a TKO due to a doctor stoppage in Dec. 2009.

The 29-year-old entered the promotion in 2012 after winning the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, defeating Godofredo Pepey in the final.
He had been 3-0 in the organization until clashing with Stephens.
On the bright side, UFC president Dana White said he wouldn't face any additional repercussion for his backstage outburst.
"Listen, this stuff happens," White said. "Especially young guys. A big loss like that. A devastating loss like that, you do stupid stuff sometimes. I don't think he expected to slice his arm open and get hurt, but it happens."
