Ian McCall out of fight with John Lineker, UFC Fight Night co-main event scrapped

John Lineker made it through weigh-in day. Ian McCall did not.
The UFC Fight Night: "Shogun" vs. Saint Preux co-main event was cancelled Friday at the 11th hour when McCall fell ill, according to UFC.com. Karyn Bryant of FOX Sports reported that McCall has a blood infection and will not be able to compete on the Uberlandia card. UFC president Dana White tweeted Friday night that McCall was sick and the fight was in jeopardy.
McCall-Lineker was not announced as a flyweight title eliminator, but many thought the winner would have taken on 125-pound champion Demetrious Johnson next. McCall is ranked No. 3 among UFC flyweight contenders, while Lineker is No. 6.
A welterweight bout between Warlley Alves and Alan Jouban will now act as the co-main event. Dhiego Lima vs. Jorge de Oliveira has been moved to the five-fight main card from the prelims.
McCall (13-4-1) seemed perfectly healthy at weigh-ins Friday afternoon. After Lineker failed to make weight on the first try, McCall trolled Lineker by gulping coconut water before hitting the scale and looking right at him.
Lineker (24-7) has missed weight before three of his seven UFC fights. He was over at 126.7 pounds on his first try Friday, but was able to make the 126-pound maximum on his second go-around. McCall was right at 126 on his first and only try.
