In August, Chael Sonnen finally overcame a personal obstacle when he beat Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. In doing so, for the first time, he defeated a fighter who formerly held a UFC championship.
At UFC 167, he’ll try to pull the trick for a second straight time. Facing Rashad Evans, Sonnen will have to figure out how to top a fighter who can boast of strong wrestling, knockout power and big-fight experience. Right now, the money is against him, choosing Evans as a slight favorite in the night’s co-main event.
