Glover Teixeira: A Rashad Evans win is 'not going to happen ... I'm better, all-around'

Glover Teixeira has a vested interest in Saturday's FOX UFC Fight Night given that he's in the main event. Still, the fan in him believes that his headlining contest against former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans is the best matchup on the entire card.

"It's going to be a good fight because we're both exciting fighters, you know?" he said during taping of the latest Road to the Octagon mini-documentary special (above).

"I come down to put on a show. I come down looking to knock you out. He's got knockout power, he's a good striker, he's a good wrestler. You're not the champion for no reason.

"There's no way this fight is going to last three rounds. You should be watching this fight -- it's the most exciting fight on the card, no doubt about it."

Still, the Brazilian has confidence that he'll be the victor after an exciting battle Saturday in Tampa."I just think I'm better, all-around," he reasoned.

We're just days away, now, from the title contender's fight, and Teixeira is confident that he'll peak at the right moment. "When the time comes, I'll be ready," he continued.

Without underestimating the wrestler Evans, Teixeira still scoffs at the idea that "Suga" will be able to do what he sees are the many difficult things he'd need to do in order to beat him. First, there's Glover's dynamite hands to contend with, then his excellent takedown defense, and, finally, his will to survive, solid mat work and ability to scramble up to his feet.

"You have to pass my hands, and then you take me down," he explained, with a smile.

"And then you have to hold me down. It's not going to happen."
