Freddie Roach: If Georges St-Pierre's upcoming camp goes well, he will return

Georges St-Pierre has teased his return to the UFC more than ever lately, and now his boxing coach Freddie Roach says the former welterweight champion is setting up a training camp to see if he's ready to come back for one more fight.

St-Pierre recently traveled to Los Angeles, where he's gone several times in the past to work with Roach and his team at the Wild Card boxing gym, home to several notable boxing champions -- including Manny Pacquiao.

According to Roach, following a 10-round session with the Canadian superstar, St-Pierre told him that they are going to set up a six-week camp. After that time, if he feels ready to get back into the Octagon, then he will plot his return.

"We came up with a process. He's going to train for a fight," Roach told Fight Hub TV. "He's going to have a six-week training camp. At the end of the six weeks, if he feels like he's ready to fight, and he's hungry for it like he always has been, he's going to do it. He's gonna fight one more time."

The key, according to Roach, is seeing how St-Pierre feels after going through the rigors of a full training camp. If all goes well, St-Pierre could potentially return in 2016.

"If he doesn't feel it and he feels like it's just not there, he'll let it go and he's going to retire. I think it's a good idea. I think it's really smart to do that, to see where he's at in his mind. Does he really want to fight again or not?" Roach said.

"I really look forward to this training camp."

St-Pierre hasn't fought since 2013 when he eked out a close decision over Johny Hendricks before surrendering his belt and taking an indefinite sabbatical from the sport.

Since that time, St-Pierre has starred in several movies including "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" as well as the upcoming reboot of the "Kickboxer" franchise.

The former champion has always maintained time his training inside the gym, but if this latest news is accurate, it seems St-Pierre is no longer contemplating a return to action -- he's planning on it.
