A bout between hard-hitting featherweight Francisco Rivera and former "Ultimate Fighter" competitor Alex Caceres has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night: Cormier vs. Bader card on June 6 from New Orleans.

UFC officials confirmed the fight to FOX Sports on Tuesday.

Rivera returns to the Octagon almost exactly six months after his last fight against Urijah Faber where an accidental eye poke ended with the UFC veteran being submitted in the second round.

Rivera actually filed an appeal with the Nevada State Athletic Commission over the controversial ending, but he was denied and now he returns in June looking to put a stop to his two-fight losing streak.

Facing Rivera in Louisiana will be Alex Caceres, who is also looking to bounce back from recent back-to-back losses.

Caceres fell to Faber as well last July before losing a unanimous decision to Masanori Kanehara in September. Prior to those defeats, Caceres had picked up wins in four out of five fights including submission victory over highly touted prospect Sergio Pettis.

Rivera vs. Caceres joins a stacked UFC Fight Night card headed for New Orleans, headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between Daniel Cormier and Ryan Bader.
