According to the report, Rebney is the owner of the domain mmaathletesassociation.info, mmaathletesassociation.net and mmaathletesassociation.org. None of the domains are live as all three lead to a “website coming soon banner.”

This revelation comes at an interesting time as Rebney most recently made waves after announcing he was part of group of fighters teasing an “industry defining” announcement on Wednesday.

The group also consists of former UFC champions Cain Velasquez and Georges St-Pierre, as well as fan favorites TJ Dillashaw, Donald Cerrone and Tim Kennedy. While there is no official word on what the announcement pertains to, speculation of some sort of fighters’ union has been the most popular theory.

St-Pierre, the former UFC welterweight champion, has hit a roadblock in his ongoing negotiations with the UFC and their parent company, WME-IMG. Cerrone and Kennedy, also became outspoken on the topic regarding a need for a fighters’ union during UFC 205 fight week earlier this month.

It should be noted four of the fighters involved are all part of the same agency: Creative Artists Agency (CAA), a direct competitor of WME-IMG.

Rebney has not been heard from since parting way with Bellator in 2014. Initially launching the organization in 2007, with its first event being held on April 13 after the promotion reached a broadcasting deal with ESPN Deportes. They would eventually move to Fox Sports Net, MTV2 and then finally Spike TV after Viacom bought a controlling interest in the company in 2011.

Spike would later announce they were parting way with Rebney, as well as President and COO Tim Danaher, in 2014 in order to partner up with former Strikeforce found Scott Coker.
