Following his last fight at 145-pounds, "Ultimate Fighter" season one winner Diego Sanchez has decided to return to the lightweight division for his next bout.

Sanchez made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday.

Sanchez ultimately only spent one fight at featherweight -- a unanimous decision loss to Ricardo Lamas last November -- before making his decision to return to 155-pounds.

Sanchez told FOX Sports prior to the fight with Lamas that he knew it would be a difficult weight cut but the prospect of finally being the larger athlete in one of his matchups would be worth the stretch to get down to 145-pounds.

"I've prepared myself in the best shape of my life knowing that this weight cut, yeah it might take a little bit out of me, but I'm prepared even though it takes a little bit out of me, I'm going to have so much in my training and my preparation and everything that I've done in the gym, I'm ready to make the weight at 146 and move forward," Sanchez said at the time.

Sanchez made weight ahead of his fight with Lamas but definitely looked slimmed down from his previous performances in the UFC, where he's fought as high as middleweight all the way to lightweight where he fought for the title in 2009.

The Team Jackson-Winkeljohn fighter has remained one of the most exciting competitors on the roster for the past decade, but lately Sanchez has fallen on harder times going just 1-3 in his last four bouts.

He'll look to get back on a win streak when he returns at lightweight later this year.
