Diego Rivas flattens Noad Lahat with highlight reel flying-knee KO

Published Feb. 6, 2016 8:26 p.m. ET

Diego Rivas may have spent most of round one on his back defending submissions, but he only need one spectacular flying knee to put Noad Lahat away in the second round with an early contender for a “Performance of the Night” bonus.

Following an early accidental eye poke, Rivas was scrambling on the mat for almost all five minutes, trying to stave off Lahat's considerable ground game. Lahat looked for several chokes and really dominated the action on the mat.

As lopsided as the first round was for Lahat, the second went just as dramatically for Rivas.

During the first exchange of the second round, Rivas uncorked a lightning quick flying knee that blasted Lahat across the jaw, sending him crashing to the mat in a heap.

The fight was stopped with Lahat knocked out cold, and Rivas celebrated his victory at just 23 seconds into the second round.

Unfortunately, Lahat laid motionless in the Octagon for several minutes after the knockout as doctors and medical personnel attended to him after the brutal knockout. Lahat was eventually able to leave the Octagon under his own power with the help of his trainers and coaches.

Rivas remains undefeated in his young career with his last two victories taking place in the UFC.
